HOW TO GET EVERYONE READY

Build up to the session and get them excited about where they're going. Don't pressure them about having to smile or sitting still, instead talk about how much fun you'll have taking photos together.

Let them run free (within a certain area), a little freedom makes the day more fun.

Bring along their favourite toy, (or sibling if they're shooting alone), to help them smile when they're too young for the promise of ice cream to do the trick.

WHAT SHOULD YOU WEAR?

It's important that you feel comfortable and confident. When you find that outfit that you love it will help you find your confidence to get amazing shots.

It's okay to match, and it's even better when you can still add an individual flair for group and family portraits.

Get to know the colours that make your skin glow and your smile that much brighter. Try different styles in the mirror, send me your favourites and we'll choose one together.

Choose different colours that complement one another across each outfit. Create a palette that includes pattern and texture which adds a higher level of interest to your photos.

NAILING THE  GROUP SHOTS

Whether it's by family or by generation, we'll need to create a shot list of all different groups. That way we'll never forget anyone.

You can't stand out from the crowd if you're lost behind someone else. If you can't see me, then I can't see you. Everyone should be in the spotlight.

Be Seen

It's okay to get in really close, the closer the better. This would help everyone to feel more comfort while in front of the lens as it is a strange experience for some.
